A trades union campaign which aims to persuade British car buyers to boycott Peugeot and Citroen cars in protest at the planned closure of the Ryton car plant near Coventry has been condemned by one of the automotive maker's top executives."

Pete's Points:

Any campaign by anyone to persuade buyers to boycott these vehicles will in my view be doomed to failure for one simple reason - the vehicles are good!

Anyone who has driven in Europe and has taken advantage of the lease arrangements for overseas visitors available from Peugeot or Citroen will realise from virtually the first moment that they sit behind the wheel and start to drive that not only are the quality of the vehicles excellent, but that they are quite economical as well both in the lease costs as well as their consumables.

A buyer or a consumer should be persuaded by a simple use of the "what's in it for me?" test.

Good luck unions - you will need it!
